My apologies in advance. We bought a family season pass to Longwood Gardens. For you, that probably means more than your fair share of botanical photos in your various social media streams for the foreseeable future.
So, I’m sorry about that.
To keep this bearable for all of us, I promise to keep the shared selections to an absolute minimum. This way, you will only see the photo creme de la crème from our future visits. If flowers aren’t your bag, you can just skip those posts altogether. To be frank, that’s probably the best approach for you. It’s less passive aggressive. Yes, I think we can all get on board with that strategy.
If these types of things ARE your bag, and you live within an hour’s drive of the Brandywine Valley, a season pass may not be a bad idea for 2017. Longwood is set to unveil its multi-million dollar revamp of their five-acre Main Fountain Garden. Concerning the new fountain display, Adrian Higgins of the Washington Post exclaims, “The new Longwood fountain will incorporate effects that would make Louis XIV hold tight to his powdered wig.” I think Mr. Higgins has a pretty low estimation of what or what may not wow Louis XIV. After all, this is a man who turned what was essentially a hunting lodge into Versailles.
Nevertheless, it does sound impressive. I’m sure I’ll take pictures of it at some point. Lucky you.
