Basketball roots run deep in the Evans family. My dad played basketball in high school as did my older brother and I. All the way through middle school to our respective senior years, I don’t think our parents ever missed one of our games.

Growing up during the winter the winter sports season, if we weren’t at a practice or a game we were probably watching a college or pro game on television. Basketball was part of being an Evans kid and now a third generation of Evans hoopsters are getting their minutes on the court.
My nephew, Tyler, just completed his senior season of hoops at Berwick Senior High School. While Berwick is traditionally known for their exploits on the football field, Tyler and his teammates managed to add some basketball heroics to the Bulldog sports history books over the past few years.

Getting to the District 2 finals and snagging an appearance in the state playoffs is a pretty significant achievement for a school more used to celebrating in the end zone as opposed to the hardwood. Tyler had a pretty impressive run through his high school career culminating in some great team and individual achievements including becoming the school’s all-time leading scorer.
His parents wanted some shots of Tyler in his uniform on the Berwick court to remember this exciting time for the family and I was happy to help them out. Even though I had some technical shortcomings, (always make sure you packed that second receiver/trigger for the second moonlight!) I still think we were able to come away with some great shots that both Tyler and his parents will be excited about.
Tyler will be headed to Hood College in the fall to continue his education as well as his basketball career, but hopefully a few of these shots will help him recall of all the special moments he had on the hardwood as a Bulldog.
