I organized a mini photowalk/scavenger hunt with the Lancaster County Photography Meetup group in my hometown of Lititz this past weekend. To increase turnout, I counterintuitively schedule these types of events at the worst times of day for photography. While photowalks from late morning into mid-day do dovetail nicely into lunchtime get-togethers which generally have a favorable effect on attendance, they usually don’t provide best-in-class lighting conditions. Despite the harsh direct sunlight, I think I picked up a few shots that I might like here and there. It will always be amazing to me that, even in the places you visit the most, you can still find new things to capture if you keep your eyes and heart open.
